2009 Recap

I feel like this year should really been known as the "Year of Presley". Going back through all of our pictures It pretty much was.

January: I was busy looking like a beached whale. Thanks to Annie, we were able to catch it on film. I had a birthday and turned 22. It also was the month after I graduated from college so I was working a lot and Zach and I were eagerly awaiting Miss P to come.

February: My feet and ankles were so swollen! I wish I would have taken a picture but the by time I had any downtime they usually were up with ice packs on them. Also Jami and Christina worked really hard and threw me a baby shower. It was the best baby shower ever!! We totally scored in the gift department. Thanks!!

March: I had been on bed rest twice. My blood pressure was out of control but I continued to test negative for Pre eclampsia. On March 23, I went in for my weekly checkup and my blood pressure was 160/112. I looked at my doctor and started to cry. I was so nervous that something would happen and then something would happen to our baby. He called the hospital and just my luck everything was really quiet. So he sent me (and my mom)to the hospital, I called Zach and he called everyone in his contact list. At 4 pm. they hooked me up to pitocin. The wait began. By 7 I was asking for an epideral, by 11:15 I was pushing and by 12:29 am Our sweet Presley Denise was born 3 weeks early. She weighed 7 lbs and 5 ounces, was 20.5 inches long and was perfect. We instantly fell in love with her. She looks nothing like the 2 of us which we were totally unprepared for. I thought for sure she would have tons of black hair, brown eyes and have olive complection. Much to our surprise she was blonde, blue eyed and fair skinned.

April: Zach and I were busily trying to figure out how to take care of a baby. Presley was busy modeling for Jenny Biggs. We took a trip up to Utah for my cousins wedding that was the first weekend of May.

May: The Deering family invited us to take one last trip as a complete family before Kyle left on his mission. Presley was a fantastic baby at Disneyland. She was stinking cute her first day in our "Disney" outfit and everyone we passed uttered the words, " Look how cute". It was a successful trip which ended with Miss P's very own Mickey Ears. Zach also had a birthday and turned Old Man... uh I mean 26. It was a rough one for him.

June: Presley was blessed by Zach and some other family members. He gave a beautiful blessing and we were so grateful for the family that surrounded us. Kyle left to serve a 2 year mission in Guatemala. We were able to talk to him on Christmas day and he sounds and is doing wonderful. He is slowly developing a spanish accent. So ladies watch out!

July: Presley was eating NON STOP. So I decided to try Rice cereal for the very first time. I think she liked it.
August: Zach and I celebrated 3 years as man and wife( ha ha which movie is that from?). I cant believe how fast the time flies. He is an amazing husband and I am so lucky to have him. He gave me this fantastic necklace from Anthropologie. It broke the next day. lame. And it was sold out everywhere. SO....I just used the gift card from it.

I also caught Presley flirting with herself in the mirror. Hysterical.

September: I got the crafting itch and made yo yo's for practically everyone I knew.

October: Miss P celebrated her first Halloween as Tinkerbell. She was so adorable. I made the costume myself and I loved how it turned out. Zach thought we needed Wings but that was enough for her. I still crack up everytime I see this face. She never cried. I think it was just the " not the camera again" face.

November: Zach and I were able to attend a Murder Mystery night. Seriously one of the best parties ever. I had so much fun. I also love an opportunity to raid my Sister in Law Christinas closet and play dress up.

December: Presley wore her very first Christmas dress. She opened her very first Christmas present under the tree and liked the wrapping paper more than the toys inside. She was also showered by gift from each side of the family. She tried Chicken Alfredo for the first time and after every bite said " Mmmm."

2009 has been good to us. I hope 2010 is just as good. I just need to get started on planning a Mad Hatter Tea Party for Miss P's first Birthday. Its going to be 2010's party of the year. I only have 3 months left to prepare!

Hand raised

I know what you are all thinking... But we are indeed alive. Blogging has become quite hard these days. When I want to be on the computer so does Presley and when she is napping I have So many other things I need to get done... Like showering. Zach has even noticed my lack of blogging and that certainly awards me the worst blogger ever title because he rarely looks on this blog. We are all doing fantastic. Everyone is finally better. Thank heavens. I thought for sure Presley was going to have a cough and runny nose for the rest of her life. I never got sick. Man those superior genes rock! Christmas is almost here and Im done with shopping. I havent asked Zach one time if he would like to open his present early. Which is amazing because I hate present surprises. Im the "super secret keeper" this year. Presley will be *sniff, sniff* 9 month old on Thursday. 9 months old! This seriously has been the fastest 9 months ever. I only wish pregnancy was this fast as well. She still has no teeth but Jami reassured me this had nothing to do with her intelligence level. Whew! Zach apparently didnt start getting teeth until 9 months so Im sure the are going to bust out all at the same time. There are those tainted Vance genes again( Just kidding). She is wearing 12- 18 month clothes at which I am grateful for Zachs superior height genes. She has start throwing fits. Seriously.. 9 months. She will flail her body all over the floor. I die laughing everytime. She loves Pancakes, french toast, cheerios, rice krispies and any other big people food you will give her. My mom bought miss P her very first Christmas dress(which was an 18 month dress) . My favorite part... the stinking bloomers underneath. I was dieing at how cute they were. She was darling. Absolutely darling.

Yah Yah Yah, I know

So did you guys ever figure out who killed Miss Delilah? Its been the post to look at for like a bazillions years. Sorry 'bout that. Well I finally finished decorating the tree( for now, who knows what I will want to add tomorrow) and I made us some new stockings. Which Im totally in love with. Ive been stealing ideas for my Christmas decor from my super talented and most creative person I know Sister in law Christina. Who by the way is now on Etsy and is almost sold out of all her hair accessories after 1 day. Check out madame pumphrey on Etsy!!! Anyways... Here is the final product Christmas tree. Its simple and sweet and we love it. Its also Miss P friendly. Notice how there isnt really anything like a foot or more off the ground? I am in love with my red and white hounds tooth ribbon. I truly want to tie bows all over my house. I made some carnation balls for ornaments and some fantastic sunbursts also by Christina. Like I said I made our stockings this year with help from Roz. She still rocks my world. Totally rocks it. And Im pretty much in love with Rudolph who has taken ownership over my mantle.

As for an update on our little family. Presley has been teething( glorious!) and has had a snotty nose (Awesome!). Zach has been sick (fantastic!) And Im perfectly healthy. I was teasing my sister in law today that I have superior genes and I never get sick. We came to the conclusion Poor Presley has tainted genes now. Nuts!! Have I ever mentioned my dad always says he has superior genes to other people? This is the same man who calls himself Keith the Great. Conceided? Nah. Funny? yes. This is also the man who buys me Chocolate covered pretzels when Im having a bad day, gets my car cleaned because he thinks it looks dirty, filled up my gas tank because it was "Almost" to E. He seriously is the best dad in the world. But since my little family has been sicky, I havent even been able to go meet my new nephew Max. Who in pictures is so precious and Im DIEING that I havent held him yet!!! Presley's nose was MUCH better today and so Im itching to see him soon. As for Zach, he can wait outside. Or just in the other room.
A week or so ago I took these pictures of Miss P. I simply love this little girl. Look at her. Shes darling. And hilarious. She seriously keeps me laughing all day.

Shes been standing up all by herself for a few seconds. I keep praying she wont walk yet. Crawling is enough!!

Who Killed Miss Delilah?

Some good friends threw a Murder Mystery Party On Saturday. It was seriously so much fun. Everytime we would tell someone what kind of party it was Everyone kept saying, " oh those CAN be fun, but the one I went to wasnt." Well let me tell you Bethany and Alana worked so hard and everything went perfectly. They split us into 5 teams because there was like almost 40 people there and we had a bunch of clues to figure out who killed Miss Delilah aka Cassie. I cant wait for the next one!! This Partys theme was 1920's- 1940's.

Mr. Fuschia and Stella Fitzgerald- I asked Zach if he wanted to be married to me and he said no, because what if you die and they think it was me.

Stella Fitzgerald is a young trusting girl from the midwest, she traveled to New York City to become a star on Broadway. She met her manager Mr. Fuschia and was instantly intranced by his charming nature. He has said he would make her the biggest star on Broadway but so far she has become a Rockette to pay the bills. However, she is the best Rockette New York has seen in awhile.Mr. Fuschia likes to take full credit for this any chance he gets.
Mr. Fushcia is a manager to actresses and singers in New York City. He has a reputation of being the worst manager in the City. This being Unknown to the many young and naive girls that move there to make it big, he takes full advantage of them. He has been particularly taken with one young girl named Stella Fitzgerald, while he is developing real feelings for her, He still cant help but to meddle in her career and is planning to take as much money from her as he can before she realizes his true nature

Stella and Lois E. Blackstone:
The whole gang:
P.S I won an award. The Mrs. White award for being most proper and orderly. Apparently I have to start showing people Im just a wild card!

Update Update, Who wants an Update?

So... I feel like we have been so busy and then I feel like I have nothing to blog about. Whats up with that? This is a picture less post. Sorry.

What does Presley do all day?

* She Squeals. ALL DAY. Just squeals. She thinks its so funny too. She will let out this huge squeal and then look around to see if anyone heard it. Oh we heard it. loud and clear sister. Its not an angry squeal.

* She Crawls everywhere. I cannot believe how fast she can get places. It seems like for 30 seconds I go do something and then shes into something and being destructive.

*Is a Chatty Kathy. Along with the squealing she talks all day long too. Sometimes she even talks in her sleep. Just like hers daddy. her favorite words are DA, MA and Guh.

* She has been pulling herself up for about 3 weeks now. We had to drop her crib down because she was seriously trying to climb out. Um hello, shes only 7.5 months old. She also walks along the couches now. Woohoo!

* She plays SOOO good. She will just play with her toys for so long. The only set back is she needs me in the same room or in the general area of her.

* she is quite the mamas girl. I was playing with her on the floor and got up to go into my aunts kitchen and banchee girl came out and she let out the angriest scream ever. How dare I do things for myself. Rude!

* She has started to like being thrown in the air BUT you have to be laughing. If you arent laughing and assuring her it is fun she throws her arms out becomes quite concerned. Its really funny.

* She is quite the manipulator. She will cry on the floor and as soon as you pick her up she is laughing and smiling like crazy.

* She loves to eat. She loves her peaches, pears, bananas, squash, green beans and peas. She opens her mouth when she wants another bite and the goes Mmmm. Its pretty funny. She also likes to paint on her high chair with all the fun colors.

* She sits up like a champ. Its so cute. Shes even started to kneel and I about die its so cute to see her kneel there playing with her toys.

* We can almost put a pony in her hair. ALMOST. ha ha with her 10 hairs. ha ha. I cant wait till I can sit her in the sink and do her hair. Its going to be so fun!!! What happened to a lot of heartburn means your kid will have hair? LIARS!

*She spits. Its ridiculous. She totally motor boats her lips and slobber is everywhere. Zach hates slobber. hates it.

Zach talked in his sleep last night. He told me he had lots of bodyguards and then he hid underneath the covers and then poked his head out and said, " Looks like its all clear." It was pretty funny.

I still have the craft bug. I have to limit myself because It gets kinda expensive. Roz and I have weekly encounters. She still rocks my world.

Miss P's First Halloween

WARNING:
This post may cause Crying, Heart flutters, The words " SOO CUTE" to leave your mouth, jealousy, overwhelming love, etc.

Please Read with Caution.

Did you make it through? You didnt die of cuteness, did you? I am proclaiming right now, right here on this blog, before all of you fine people... MY BABY IS THE CUTEST BABY ON EARTH. Im sorry to those who think theirs are. I know this is an unfortunate way to find out the truth.

We had a great Halloween. We didnt make it too late because of course the day I want Presley to take good naps she doesnt. But Oh well, thats life. She was the cutest Tinkerbell ever. Zach was a little disappointed she didnt have wings but seriously the tu tu skirt was big enough I could only imagine carrying her with wings on too. I am so proud of myself. I made the whole costume!! Even the little shoes! Which were my favorite part. I almost cried when I finished them.

Here she is with Rapunzel ( Grace) who made a mighty fine "Rella". And then the next picture is with my parents. Ok. Lets be honest. Whos dad dresses up this cool? I mean he dresses up like this every year and walks around asking little kids if they want any candy with the creepiest voice. Presley loved him. She wasnt even scared at all. She really just wanted to rip his beard off. And she knew the voice and kept looking to see if the face she usually saw with the voice was under there. So funny.

Miss P the terror

Since Miss P is a master crawler these days, my daily life consists of picking up things off the floor, hiding the dog toys, removing wires from a mouth, hiding wires, vaccuming, sweeping, and cuddling crying baby after she has bonked her head. Yes its a busy life indeed. But just as I was getting used to my daily life, things got worse. I caught Miss P red handed pulling herself up to things. SAY WHAT!? The basket that was hiding the TV wires has now become another toy. Miss P sure loves to rip up old ensigns.

And then I thought to myself, "ok shes just sitting up pulling herself up. Its not standing..."
Did I forget to knock on wood?
Even though she has become quite the little terror I cant seem to hate her. Shes just so stinking cute.

In other news... I am a seamstress. Its true. Meet Roz.

Heck yes she has a name and heck yes I love her. Zach said you spelled it Ros. But seriously a girl with this much pizazz deserves a "Z". Why Roz? I''ll tell ya. When I was younger My grandma June would watch old Esther Williams movies with us girl cousins. Roz was the characters name on "On an Island with you" and My cousin Breeann and I would fight over who got to play her when we would swim(Esther Williams always played a swimmer in movies, cause she was just that in real life) So Breeann and I would always switch off or should I say Breeann was older and I was usually forced to give up playing Roz and play Yvonne the other girl.So now here I am an adult and I named my Sewing machine Roz because....I can. My granny has so kindly offered up sewing lessons and every Thursday I learn more and more. Im loving it.

Wanna See what Ive made so far?

These Darling little Miss P skirts. I love them!! Dont worry she is pretty much the most stylish girl I know.
P.s- She turns 7 months this week. Where has the time gone?
