Our Dating Story...

1. Where did you meet?

Zach and I have different stories... He says we met at the Dickersons game night and I say we met at the Burnhams game night. I know I am right though because I specifically remember Zach walking into the Burnhams living room and I thought he was SO CUTE! I got really nervous.

2. What was the first thing you said to him?

For like 5 months Zach and I didnt talk.I probably said " HI" and introduced myself but we didnt really talk. I think Zach started our first conversation when he said I looked like a girl he went to China with so he insisted on taking a picture with me so he could send it to her. I think he just wanted to get close to me.

3. Where was your first date?

Zach asked for my number(even though he had already gotten it from our friend Tyler) at The Singles Halloween Dance Party. We went out the next week. I was so nervous before he came that I had to lay underneath my ceiling fan and drink water. We went over to his friend Collins house and played games. We did this thing where we were given items and we were supposed to do a video about that thing. Zach and I got turtles so we sang" Part of your World" and changed the words so it had something to do with our turtles. Zach has an amazing voice.

4. Where was your first kiss?
I am extremely embarassed about this... I promise I didnt take him here so it would be romantic and then want to kiss me. Zach and I went hot tubbing and had our first kiss there... I promise I just wanted to go hot tubbing!

5. How long did you date?

we dated 6 months, got engaged, married 3 months later. On the hottest day of August!!!

6. Where did you get engaged?

Zach proposed on his 23rd Birthday. We went out to eat with his parents at the Landmark for his birthday. Mom and dad Vance left early and I seriously thought his family didnt even love him. Birthdays in my family are big deals and thought for sure his family was the same. After they left a Cake lit with Candles came to our table and in my head I was like oh how cute they surprised him with a cake. The waitress put the cake in front of me and I looked down and it said " Will you marry me Whitney". Completely in shock I turned to Zach where he was down on one knee.

7. When were you married?

We were married on August 10,2006 in the Mesa AZ Temple. I didnt sleep more than 2 hours the night before because I was so nervous... so ultimately I was sick the day of my wedding. Yah I know ridiculous. I completely worked myself up to nausea. I cried all morning and gagged too. Mom had to talk me into going to the Temple. I knew I was supposed to marry Zach I just freaked out for a little bit. Im not good with change.

8.How did your reception go?

After we got married , my inlaws planned a wonderful luncheon where our families went through and told us how much they loved us. My nephew Denmark even sang me a song which was so cute. Our Reception...Could there have been anymore people? I planned for 300 or so and I swear it was like 600 people! The line was forever and I was so hungry. BUT The Dance Party at the end... WAS FANTASTIC!!We had so many people but we were so thankful for everyones love and support.

9. How was your honeymoon?

For our honeymoon we went on a cruise. We had a couple of days before we left so we played around with family and spent time together. Our cruise was fun... we went to Key West, Cozumel and Belize City. With all you can eat all the time Zach and I were in heaven. We thought though that it would have been better to have people there with us because when you out to sea there wasnt much to do on the boat. So a couple of weeks later we went to Disneyland for our second Honeymoon.

Graduation

Today was a very special day. I FILLED OUT MY GRADUATION PAPERS!!!! ahhhh!!! Im so excited to finally be on my way to being done with school. As exciting as this might be even after I graduate with my AAS I still have a whole semester left to get my Advanced Certificate. Whoever said you graduate with your AAS in 2 years was crazy! I am now on my 3rd year of college and will finally graduate in May. I had a little scare earlier on in the semester when they changed the program classes and requirements and I honestly thought I was never going to have a baby and that I would be in school FOREVER! Our program director had a meeting to explain what was going on and I found out that I would be Grandfathered in and would just finish in the original program. So all is well and now the stress zit that has grown on my face will be going away.

Dont hate Celebrate,heyyy!

Well its official! The big 2-1 has come my way. I had a wonderful birthday thanks to family and friends. Zach got up early because I had class at 8:15 and made me breakfast. I was actually really impressed. The last time Zach made breakfast I ended up redoing it because he managed to burn the scrambled eggs. One of my friends Bethany brought me the most delicious chocolate chip cookies to class. They were so good!!!! I skipped out on my internship and went and got a very needed pedicure with my Mama and then headed out to lunch at Paradise Bakery with My parents, brother Kyle, Zach, Grandma and Grandpa, aunt Jodi and mom Vance. After lunch it was back to school until 10. That was the only downer of the whole day. I mean come on who wants to go to school until 10 on their birthday. Thanks to all who called and text me on my birthday, even those Zach text first to tell you text me and say Happy birthday it was quite a surprise to get " Happy birthday" from lots of unknown phone numbers. I thoroughly enjoyed all the Singing left on my answering machine(Annie and Vance, Liza Denmark and Addie)... sorry I didnt answer I was in class!Love you all!

Farewell to an Amazing Prophet

"I hope that all of you will remember that on this Sabbath day you heard me bear my witness that this is God's holy work. The vision given the Prophet Joseph in the grove of Palmyra was not an imaginary thing. It was real. It occurred in the broad light of day. Both the Father and the Son spoke to the boy. He saw Them standing in the air above him. He heard Their voices. He gave heed to Their instruction.

"It was the resurrected Lord who was introduced by His Father, the great God of the universe. For the first time in recorded history, both the Father and the Son appeared together to part the curtains and open this, the last and final dispensation, the dispensation of the fullness of times.

"The Book of Mormon is all that it purports to be—a work recorded by prophets who lived anciently and whose words have come forth "to the convincing of the Jew and Gentile that Jesus is the Christ, the Eternal God, manifesting himself unto all nations" (Book of Mormon title page).

"The priesthood has been restored under the hands of John the Baptist and Peter, James, and John. All the keys and authority pertaining to eternal life are exercised in this Church.

"Joseph Smith was and is a prophet, the great Prophet of this dispensation. This Church, which carries the name of the Redeemer, is true.

"I leave you my testimony, my witness, and my love for each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ, amen."

My heart is so deeply saddened by the passing of our sweet prophet. I am so thankful for his diligence and service to our church. He was a great example of the person I want to be.I am so grateful for him and for the time we were able to have him as our prophet and be able listen to his great counsel. He will truly be missed. What a wonderful reuniting it must have been for him and his sweet wife.

Its a great day for a Hike

Our friend Tyler was in town from Utah with his "special" friend Maren and they invited us to go Hiking, Michael and his wife Deanna also came with. I have to admit hiking was not on my to do list for today. When Zach asked if I wanted to go I agreed but secretly wished he would be to tired to wake up early and go. Well we ended up going anyways and we had a great time. We took Zoey with us and I have to say Hiking is one of Zoey's many talents. She amazes me everyday... she knows lots of tricks, she is pretty much an Olympic swimmer and now she hikes with the best of them. We got a lot of " OH look at the cute puppy" and lots of " can she make it up the rocks?". There were quite a number of Horses on our trail today and Zoey kicked in to protective mode and grawled at them like she was some kind of ferocious dog. The people on the horses just laughed. We had such a fun time!

P.S: yes Zach and I are wearing matching jackets. We thought it would be funny to act like we were HARDCORE hikers. What do you think? Pretty hardcore huh?
