Well its official! The big 2-1 has come my way. I had a wonderful birthday thanks to family and friends. Zach got up early because I had class at 8:15 and made me breakfast. I was actually really impressed. The last time Zach made breakfast I ended up redoing it because he managed to burn the scrambled eggs. One of my friends Bethany brought me the most delicious chocolate chip cookies to class. They were so good!!!! I skipped out on my internship and went and got a very needed pedicure with my Mama and then headed out to lunch at Paradise Bakery with My parents, brother Kyle, Zach, Grandma and Grandpa, aunt Jodi and mom Vance. After lunch it was back to school until 10. That was the only downer of the whole day. I mean come on who wants to go to school until 10 on their birthday. Thanks to all who called and text me on my birthday, even those Zach text first to tell you text me and say Happy birthday it was quite a surprise to get " Happy birthday" from lots of unknown phone numbers. I thoroughly enjoyed all the Singing left on my answering machine(Annie and Vance, Liza Denmark and Addie)... sorry I didnt answer I was in class!Love you all!

Farewell to an Amazing Prophet

"I hope that all of you will remember that on this Sabbath day you heard me bear my witness that this is God's holy work. The vision given the Prophet Joseph in the grove of Palmyra was not an imaginary thing. It was real. It occurred in the broad light of day. Both the Father and the Son spoke to the boy. He saw Them standing in the air above him. He heard Their voices. He gave heed to Their instruction.
"It was the resurrected Lord who was introduced by His Father, the great God of the universe. For the first time in recorded history, both the Father and the Son appeared together to part the curtains and open this, the last and final dispensation, the dispensation of the fullness of times.
"The Book of Mormon is all that it purports to be—a work recorded by prophets who lived anciently and whose words have come forth "to the convincing of the Jew and Gentile that Jesus is the Christ, the Eternal God, manifesting himself unto all nations" (Book of Mormon title page).
"The priesthood has been restored under the hands of John the Baptist and Peter, James, and John. All the keys and authority pertaining to eternal life are exercised in this Church.
"Joseph Smith was and is a prophet, the great Prophet of this dispensation. This Church, which carries the name of the Redeemer, is true.
"I leave you my testimony, my witness, and my love for each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ, amen."
My heart is so deeply saddened by the passing of our sweet prophet. I am so thankful for his diligence and service to our church. He was a great example of the person I want to be.I am so grateful for him and for the time we were able to have him as our prophet and be able listen to his great counsel. He will truly be missed. What a wonderful reuniting it must have been for him and his sweet wife.

Its a great day for a Hike
Our friend Tyler was in town from Utah with his "special" friend Maren and they invited us to go Hiking, Michael and his wife Deanna also came with. I have to admit hiking was not on my to do list for today. When Zach asked if I wanted to go I agreed but secretly wished he would be to tired to wake up early and go. Well we ended up going anyways and we had a great time. We took Zoey with us and I have to say Hiking is one of Zoey's many talents. She amazes me everyday... she knows lots of tricks, she is pretty much an Olympic swimmer and now she hikes with the best of them. We got a lot of " OH look at the cute puppy" and lots of " can she make it up the rocks?". There were quite a number of Horses on our trail today and Zoey kicked in to protective mode and grawled at them like she was some kind of ferocious dog. The people on the horses just laughed. We had such a fun time!
P.S: yes Zach and I are wearing matching jackets. We thought it would be funny to act like we were HARDCORE hikers. What do you think? Pretty hardcore huh?

Goodbye Winter vacation, We'll miss you!
Well its officially over. No more sleeping in, no more late nights up(well for me anyway), no more spending time with our families, and no more seeing each other!Spring semester has definitely started. This semester will be the busiest semester so far in my education. I have completely committed suicide by taking 15 credits(mostly night classes, UGH), an internship where I move furniture like a crazy person(my body is not happy about that) and 3 jobs. I hope I can make it through. On the other hand, Zach is really excited about his semester. He is liking his classes so far and he only has ONE crazy teacher. So he is feeling successful. He is juggling school and work as well. After the semester only 1 more for the both of us!Hooray!!! Temperature check in my house.... 56 degrees.

First Post of 2008
My cousin-in-law Spencer has been quite angry with me lately. He says he has been checking our blog EVERYDAY for updates and he has been very disappointed that I havent updated in awhile SO... SPENCER THIS ONE IS FOR YOU!
We hope you all had a wonderful holiday season. We spent this Holiday season with our favorite people in the whole world... OUR FAMILIES!! Of course I had my camera with me all the time... and of course I forgot to take pictures! So its just words this time. Sorry.
Christmas Eve and Christmas day were spent running back and forth between My family and Zach's family. Christmas Eve we had Palistine(or Pakistan either one works, HA HA, sorry funny story) dinner with The Vance family. Then we ran to my parents house for their annual Deering/Parker/Dascanio Christmas eve party and talent show. We woke up Christmas morning opened our presents to each other in our bed, got showered and hurried over to my parents house for gifts and then hurried over for German Pancakes at the Vances... I had been craving those pancakes since last Christmas! After pancakes and opening our perfect Christmas present... A GRILL( Thanks mom and dad Vance!)we again were off... over to the Parkers we went for more breakfast and more presents. We were truly given so many things from our families and we are so grateful for them all. Thanks Annie for our "keep warm" present We loved it!!! We had dinner over at the Vances with Christina, Waylon and their kids, Grandpa and Grandma Baker and Aunt Carol(mom Vances sister) who I met for the first time. As you can tell there was a lot of food involved in our Christmas holiday.
On New Years Eve Zach woke up at 5:30 to go play some basketball... and you can only imagine me trying to talk him in to going out( sorry Cara and Evan we totally stink) But I did talk him in to going over to his sister Christinas house to eat pizza, play Games and watch Count of Monte Cristo with Mom and Dad Vance,Andrew and Alissa and Christina's family. He almost fell asleep. But we rang in the New Year with them. My Family had headed up to Utah and left us here! We Wish you all a Happy New Year and maybe with this New Year I can be better at Updating my blog.
